As the ground underneath the city used to be the bottom of a lake, it should be soft and not suitable for high buildings. That I think is the reason why Bogota is mainly filled with apartment flats (up till 6 ot 8 stories) and houses. In the center you can find some high buildings though like the old Hilton hotel and Colpatria:
Colpatria is the highest building in the city (192m, 50 stories) and probably the highest point in Colombia. I have not been on top of it and actually not sure if you can, but soon we will give it a try and show you the images of the city below.
